AEM-8 Versions

The AEM-8 is only available in a fully cached version. The AEM-8 can emulate any 79XX Disk Drive on an HP-IB controller, where the computer system runs CS/80 compatible software. The emulated drive model is selected from the operator panel.

Enclosures

AEM-8/RRM (removable primary device, 80 pin) A Single Drive Emulation in a 19" Rack Mount enclosure. Supports all drive emulations and standard options. The LCD Operator Panel provides full control over all internal functions including selection of drive to emulate, internal copy and multi-volume selection. AEM-8/RMR with a 50 pin primary device is no longer available.

Notes: System Models include the enclosure, an Emulator, mounting for the mandatory primary SCSI drive(s), a power supply, internal cabling and software. The SCSI drives are specified separately. Mounting for Primary SCSI Storage Device

The legacy disk drive image is stored on the primary SCSI storage device. AEM-8 Systems are configured with a removable SCSI disk drive as the primary SCSI device. SCSI disk drives are ordered separately. The RRM enclosure includes a drive bay with key lock switch for mechanical and electrical interlock.
