TES-3 Versions


There is only one standard version of the TES-3 with no model modifier. It is anticipated that minor changes required to emulate specific drives or interface with specific controllers will be accommodated by the standard product.

Enclosures



TES-3/RMC (for fixed mount, magneto optical drive)
TES-3/RRM (for removable hard drive, 80 pin)

A Single Drive Emulation in a 19" Rack Mount enclosure. The unit shown is an RMC with fixed mounted magneto optical drive.

The LCD Operator Panel provides full control over all tape functions and indications of tape status.
Notes:

System Models include the enclosure, an Emulator, mounting for the mandatory SCSI drive, a standard AC power supply, internal cabling and software. The SCSI drive is specified separately.

Primary SCSI Device


The legacy tape image is stored on a SCSI output device. TES-3 Systems may be configured with either a hard drive or a magneto optical drive as this device. SCSI disk drives are ordered separately.

For RMC enclosures, the magneto optical drive is fixed mounted in the front panel of the TES. Magneto Optical drives have proven to be an excellent choice for use in Arraid tape emulators. These drives and media have the durability to perform well for many years.

RMR enclosures include drive bays for removable disk drive modules. The drive bays have a key lock switch for mechanical and electrical interlock. Any standard Arraid removable disk drive module can be used.
