Diablo/Pertec, RK-05 Cartridge Disk Drive Emulation - AEM-5C
The Arraid AEM-5C system provides a new and warranted equipment replacement for early cartridge disk drives that adhere to the industry standard Diablo / Pertec
interface, including the DEC RK05 and RK11 cartridge drives.
The AEM-5C is plug-compatible with the original or refurbished Diablo, Pertec, RK05, and RK11drives, while using current and reliable SCSI drive technology to store data. No host system controller or software changes are required to install the AEM-5C. The AEM-5C provides a complete bridge between Diablo, Pertec, DEC RK05, and DEC RK11 controllers allowing them to utilize modern SCSI drives installed in the AEM-5C. While refurbished Diablo, Pertec, DEC RK05, and RK11 replacements are available, refurbished drives commonly fail within a few months resulting in system down time. The AEM-5C is provided as new equipment, with a warranty, and MTBF of 200,000+ hours. Additional AEM-5C options include disk to disk backup, disk to tape backup, and mirroring. No refurbished Diablo, Pertec, RK05, or RK11 replacement can match the reliability, features and customer support provided by choosing the AEM-5C to replace your aging cartridge disk drives. Contact Arraid today to learn more about new drive replacements for aging computer systems.

The AEM-5C is available in several configurations. A 19" rack mount chassis with removable SCSI MO drives is shown above.
